Ben Clark
President of Trades Workforce Foundation

Ben Clark is the Associate Director of Academic Affairs at Aviation Institute of Maintenance, Centura College, and Tidewater Tech. After working in higher education for over fifteen years, he stays motivated by witnessing graduates blossom into new, contributing members of the workforce.

Nicole Gleaton
Secretary of Trades Workforce Foundation

Nicole Gleaton serves as the Director of Communications for Aviation Institute of Maintenance, Centura College, and Tidewater Tech, headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA.  Nicole began her career in higher education over a decade ago as a Compliance Officer.  Her background in regulatory compliance compliments her current role, which includes community/political outreach and public relations.  She also oversees enrollment document management, companywide travel and meeting logistics, and she regularly interfaces with industry organizations.

MArie Carter
Treasurer of Trades Workforce Foundation

Marie Carter is a Norfolk Public School teacher, active volunteer, and community advocate who also sits on the board for the St. Paul’s Community Development Corporation and the Executive Advisory Council for Teens With a Purpose. Marie is a supporter of life long learning and believes in the importance of building a workforce of people trained in trades. 

Tim Chernicky
Executive Director of Trades Workforce Foundation

Tim Chernicky is the Executive Director of Trades Workforce Foundation. He is a twenty-year veteran of the aviation sector with the last five spent in education. Tim is committed to helping as many students as possible enter the workforce and build a successful career in the trades.

Board Members

Kenneth Alexander

Dr. Kenneth Cooper Alexander was elected Mayor of the City of Norfolk on May 3, 2016. A native of Norfolk and president of Metropolitan Funeral Service, he began his public service career more than two decades ago. Before his election as mayor, Dr. Alexander served in the Senate of Virginia where he was a member of the committees on Commerce and Labor; Finance; Transportation; and Privileges and Elections.

 

Greg Daniel

Greg Daniel has been working for the Aviation Institute of Maintenance for 27 years.  He is currently serving as a Regional Director over the Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas, Houston, and Orlando campuses. Greg  Greg graduated from a career school with a Computer Specialist diploma in 1994 and has a personal understanding of how career technical education can change not only the life of the graduate but generations to come.  Greg continued his education during his career and now has his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree. Greg is excited to serve on the TWF Board of Directors and to be able to help other students to take a path like the one that he took.

Nixon McCree

Nixon McCree is a 24-year veteran in Aviation and serves on the TWF Board of Directors. He is passionate about extending opportunities to rewarding professional Trade careers with intentional focus on equity,  diversity and inclusion within the Hampton road and surrounding Virginia communities. Nixon served 10 years in the US Armed Forces ( 5 years US Army/5 Years US Air Force). He is currently the General Manager for American Airlines at Norfolk International Airport with a commitment to fulfill people’s aspirations to travel anywhere in the world.
